This week Kate Russell from the BBC Click technology show (BBC News) reviewed personal projectors.
Pico Genie M400 Pro Ultra Portable Mini Projector is the Number One Choice
This was the presenters number one choice, "the Pico Genie M400 Pro is my pick of the bunch as it packs 300 lumens on battery power and is 3D ready out of the box. But the best thing is this compact projector also has wireless projection and screen mirroring which means you can connect your phone to any compatible android handset without the need for any additional apps or wires and throw your phone onto the wall."
The M400 Pro will also work with Apple devices either via wire (apple Digital AV adaptors) or via wireless options like Apple TV or the myriad of other HDMI chromecast type dongles for projectors on the market.
Like most projectors with internal speakers they are "a bit rubbish" but the presenter did say "all you have to do is connect to external audio to benefit from 5.1 surround sound to get the full on cinematic experience at up to 100 inches". That said you can still get away with using the internal speakers which are louder than your phone or iPad.
Pico Genie P50 Pro if you really want portable projection!
BBC Click were amazed at how portable the Pico Genie P50 Pro was and said "if you really want portable check out this cute little sucker, the P50 Pro it literally fits into your pocket"
"It doesn't have wifi but it does have all the other connections that the other more powerful devices have. You are going to need a fairly dark room for this one but to be honest for the price and the size of it its a powerful little device and it comes with a stand, a remote control and a 3 hour battery life. Its certainly fine for watching a movie in your hotel room or delivering a palm sized presentation"
