  • Connect Your Surface Pro to a Projector - Get the Most Out of Your Device!

Want to connect your Surface Pro device to a projector, or to a second monitor? Most projectors will work with Surface Pro devices, and to find out how, simply read the guide below - it couldn't be simpler!

    Wired Connections

All you need is a Microsoft Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable. Simply plug the adapter into your Surface Pro and connect the HDMI cable and you're all set! To change your mirroring settings, use Windows + P to switch between extending or mirroring your display.

    Wireless Connections

For this method, we recommend you use a projector with a powered USB or HDMI port, such as the Pico Genie M550 Plus or the Pico Genie P200.

Simply purchase one of our Wireless Mirroring Dongles and plug it in. Make sure it's set to the Miracast setting (just push the button on the dongle) and follow the following steps on your Surface device.

    1. Select the search box in the taskbar, enter project to a second screen, and in the search results, select Project to a second screen.

    2. Choose one of the following options:

PC screen only: You’ll see everything on your Surface screen. (When you're connected to a wireless projector, this option changes to Disconnect.)
Duplicate: You’ll see the same things on all screens.
Extend: You'll see everything spread over all screens, and you can drag and move items between them.
Second screen only: You’ll see everything on the connected screen or screens, and your Surface screen will be blank.

  • Projection Mapping at Transcending Boundaries, Pace Gallery London

Projection mapping is certainly on trend right now, and looking at Transcending Boundaries, a new exhibition that's currently in residence at London's Pace Gallery, it's not hard to see why.

If you don't know what projection mapping is, just watch the video above for the most achingly beautiful demonstration. The science behind it is quite simple - using powerful projectors (in fact, many of the projectors on our website can be used for this, such as the Pico Genie M550 Plus) an image is displayed on a surface, that you can then make interactive using interactive sensors.

In fact, if you have the right software, there's no reason you can't use a pico projector to create a small-scale version of this exhibition at home, at work or anywhere! Take inspiration from the beautiful Flowers Bloom On People (pictured above), which appears to be an empty black room until you step into it. Once someone is in the room, they'll be illuminated with beautiful blooming flowers. The more people are in the room, the more the room blossoms until it's a colourful meadow.

That's not all - check out the room below, which is designed to look like a waterfall that reacts to your every move.

If you're down in London, we highly recommend paying a visit - you could even get creative and come up with some ideas you can create yourself!

  • How Businesses Can Easily Increase Facebook Page Likes

All you expert marketeers out there already know that Facebook page likes are becoming more valuable than ever as a way of connecting with your audience over the long term. The challenge is how to increase the page likes quickly and then how to retain the engagement. Personal Projector Ltd can certainly help with increasing your page likes. We’ve seen great growth in page book likes with companies using innovative giveaways which are highly prized in the eyes of the targeted consumer or business. As an example a giveaway pico projector would cost significantly less than an equivalent email campaign or google adwords campaign and would also be highly innovative and different.

Whether you are trying to target business or consumers the perception is you are offering something of real value so the page likes will dramatically increase. Repeating this over a few months can keep the engagement going and can be far more effective with a higher ROI than the traditional online marketing strategies.

Why choose pico projectors for prize giveaways?

The pico projectors cover a wide audience too from Business to Consumers as they are ideal for home cinema, business, personal, travel, gaming and more.

They are also quite unique as a giveaway and as such increase audience engagement online and offline as its something different to the usual standard tech giveaway. People have become a bit bored or resistant to the standard giveaway high end prizes like an ipad. Pico projectors start from quite a low price point in comparison and for larger groups wanting giveaways pico projectors can be competitively priced. Contact us on 0845 121 8800 for more information on trade deals for volume orders.

It doesn’t just stop at Facebook as these can be used as offline incentives too for marketing initiatives or as incentives for people attending conferences.

Check out some of the giveaways and feedback we have done on our Facebook page. If you strike lucky you might even get your customer to do a quick video for you like the one below which was a great surprise for us when we saw it.
